This photo is of 5 Viet Nam Healing Wall Name Rubbings that I did electronically. Isn't the Internet a marvelous tool for communicating. These 5 names were my closest Brothers out of the 181 total names from my until 3rd Battalion/8th Inf. KIA in the entire war.

I thought the days of judging the Vietnam vet were over but they are not. Recently a friend who is a Vietnam combat veteran (CIB) who met all qualifications to join was denied membership into the R.I. Combat Veteran Motorcycle Association by a state rep who was a Iraq vet. He refused to be prospected (initiation/hang around time) which the CVMA says they do not do but it is common practice for R.I. CVMA to do so they can judge who wants to wear their COOL patch, as put by this arrogant state rep. The National CVMA was notified about this problem in R.I. but chose to do nothing to help this Vietnam combat veteran out with his membership request. To be a member of the Combat Veteran Motorcycle Assn. one must ride a bike of a certain size, give $20 and have a DD 214 saying they SERVED in a War Zone. Thats it and they denied a real Combat veteran to join their ranks.
Shame on the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association and this in the rear with the gear state rep of R.I. should be asked to step down immediately for his prejudicial treatment of a Vietnam Combat veteran.
Thanks for the space here to vent, this blog is a good read.
May they never be forgotten. Went down to the wall when it was dedicated and went back down when they dedicated the three grunt statue. Very moving monuments, to say the least.
